When is it all happening?

We cannot close the site completely and do all the work in one go due to the disruption that this would cause. This means that we are doing it in a sequence of ‘mini-projects’ over a period of five years. Where possible these have been timed to take place during the low season.

- Conservation of the Temple Pediment
2007-08 
- Conservation of the Great Bath stonework
- Clearance of alcoves beside the Great Bath
- Introduction of costumed interpretation
- Film projections in the Circular Bath
- Upgraded the present lift to carry passengers
2008-09 
- New interpretation on the Terrace
- Redesigned museum entrance
- New displays on the museum mezzanine
- Reversed visitor flow through museum
- New stairs down from lift shaft to lower museum
- Improved display of Roman drain in lower museum
- Refurbished lower museum shop
2009-10 
- Upgraded museum displays
- New public seating at the Temple Pediment
- Redisplayed the West Baths
- Redesigned main Roman Baths Shop
2010-11 
- Improved the West Baths exit arrangements
What we are going to do:

2011-12 
- Open York Street extension
